Miss Naomi Gittus BSc (Hons)

Postgraduate Scientist

Naomi graduated from the University of Warwick in 2020 with a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science. As part of her dissertation she studied the medicinal properties and the therapeutic potential of Cantharidin, a compound secreted by Coleoptera commonly used in ancient medicine and recently discovered to have anti-tumour properties through the selective inhibition of protein phosphatase 2A.

Naomi joined Micropathology Ltd as a full-time postgraduate scientist in April 2021 and is involved in the company’s diagnostic microbiology service.
