Julia graduated from the University of Bath in 2018 with a BSc in Biochemistry. During her degree she also undertook a placement year at SYNMIKRO, at the University of Marburg, Germany, with Dr Georg Fritz, working with E.coli and B. Subtilis to generate a toolbox for modular cloning. Following this, in 2023 she completed a PhD in medical sciences at the University of Birmingham with Dr Helen McGettrick. Here, she used RNA-sequencing, nuclear magnetic resonance, and multiplex imaging to investigate autoimmune rheumatic diseases (Rheumatoid arthritis, Polymyalgia rheumatica and Giant cell arteritis). Following completion of her PhD, Julia joined Micropathology Ltd. in 2023.
