Dr Holly Shropshire graduated from the University of Exeter with an BSc(Hons) degree in Biological Sciences with a specialisation in Microbiology and Infectious Diseases in 2016. She completed a Masters by Research at the University of Warwick in 2017 investigating the sugar transporters of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. She continued her studies at the University of Warwick graduating in 2022 with a PhD on the link between virulence and membrane lipid remodelling in Burkholderia cenocepacia. After completing her PhD, she was a Research Assistant with Dr Freya Harrison, testing potential antimicrobials against biofilms of cystic fibrosis pathogens in an ex vivo pig lung model. She then was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with Prof Yin Chen to continue her PhD work.
