Emily graduated from Newcastle University in 2011 with a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology. Following this she joined the pharmaceutical company, Sanofi, as a quality control analyst for a year. At Sanofi, she was involved with the quality control testing of aerosol products.
In 2012 Emily returned to academia and completed an MRes and PhD in the Institute of Cellular Medicine at Newcastle University. Her research focussed on studying mitochondrial function in a novel hepatocyte cell line for use in pre-clinical toxicity testing. This predominantly involved the use of cell culture techniques and extra-cellular flux analysis to determine measures of cellular respiration.
Emily joined Micropathology Ltd in January 2017.
