Alec Bowden BSc (Hons)
Alec graduated from the University of Durham with a BSc (Hons) in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry in 2000. As part of his undergraduate degree he spent one year working for a pharmaceutical firm where he was involved in the development of cell based assays investigating the binding of HIV to host cells.
After graduating Alec worked for a biotechnology firm where he was involved in the development of a novel molecular diagnostic technique for the detection of MRSA. His career continued at a contract research organisation where he worked in the Biomarkers laboratory developing assays and analysing clinical trial samples to monitor the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of potential drugs.
Prior to joining Micropathology Ltd, Alec worked in a molecular biology laboratory investigating the health and nutrition of companion animals.
