We have developed reproducible, sensitive
methods to test the efficacy of disinfectants and surface cleaners. These
tests use molecular technology to detect the successful destruction of organisms
such as HIV, hepatitis B and hepatitis C viruses.
We will test at concentrations and in
conditions which replicate those expected during normal use of surface cleaners.
We can design test systems for special
applications and for specific pathogens.
CELL
CULTURE REAGENTS
We provide one off and/or a full regular
testing service for anyone providing, buying or using cell lines and tissue
culture materials (e.g. growth medium or serum).
We have rapid, sensitive assays for Mycoplasma
genus contamination.
We screen cell lines e.g. those used
in vaccine development, for the presence of virus sequences.
ENDOTOXIN
TESTING
We use the Limulus Amoebocyte
Lysate (LAL) test to detect and semi-quantitate endotoxin (also known as
pyrogen).
The test is both rapid and sensistive
(to 0.03 EU/ml) and is particularly suitable for the testing of cosmetic
constituents.
GMO
TESTING
We offer both detection and quantitation
of genetically modified organisms (GMO) in processed foods and raw material.
Specially optimised sample preparation
techniques are used, and the tests include controls for DNA integrity.
The highly sensitive and specific tests
will detect and quantify genes present in the herbicide tolerant Roundup
Ready soybean and insect resistant maize Bt-176. Qualitative screening for
unnamed GMOs is also possible using tests specific for genes present in
~95% of presently available GM crops.
