Other areas already targeted for development include: (1) expansion of Cystic Fibrosis mutation testing to permit processing of amniocentesis samples and pre-implantation blastocyst genetic screening for assisted conception programs, (2) screening for an increased range of human genetic disorders, (3) animal pedigree testing, (4) individual pharmacogenetic profiling for use in drug trials and/or as an indicator of therapeutic response, (5) Apo E typing and other disease susceptibility gene screening.
